Christian Halleröd started Halleroed in 1998 and a few years later Ruxandra Halleröd joined the company. Christian is a trained cabinetmaker and designer and Ruxandra is an architect. The studio is based in Stockholm but mainly works internationally, including in Los Angeles, London, New York, Paris, and Berlin. Halleroed has been praised worldwide for its store interiors for, among others, Acne Studios, Axel Arigato, Byredo, Mateus, and Totême.
Halleroed has also created exhibitions at the Stockholm Furniture Fair and a public living room at the Nordic Museum, as well as interiors for offices, hotels, and homes. In 2019, Halleroed was named Decorator of the Year at the ELLE Decoration Swedish Design Awards.
